"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

ATTENTION,

URGENT

I am Mr. Martin Seal, Special advisor
and confidant of the recently sacked Deputy President
of South Africa Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma. Zuma was
sacked on the 14th of June shortly after Shabir Shaik
(his financial adviser) had been found guilty of
corruption; he was later replaced with Mrs. Mlambo
Ngcuka. Please check the details in the internet, type
in this (shabir shaik trial) and search.

Shaik was accused of making
payments to the ex-vice president in exchange for
political favours. Much of the evidence focused on the
accusations that a French arms company had sought to
use Mr. Shaiks influence with the vice president to
secure a contract with the South African government.

The president Mr. Thabo Mbeki noted that the high
court judges ruling in the Shaik trail had identified
a generally corrupt relationship between Zuma and
Shaik and came to the conclusion that for the interest
of Zuma, the government and the young democratic
system, it would be the best to relieve Zuma of his
responsibilities, which the president did.

Under the South African constitution, the president
has right to appoint all cabinet ministers, including
the vice president and to dismiss
them at will.

As the trial of Shabir Shaik by
Judge Hilary Squires progressed, I fore-saw the
dangers of likely implication of Zuma and quickly
advised him to transfer all his hard earned cash to
another country for the fear of likely confiscation of
same by the government. The sum of
US$15.8 Million through my assistance was moved to
London and lodged with a private security firm.

I am writing you in respect of this as we want to
invest the fund in your country, you will receive the
fund and through your capable guidelines you will be
into partnership with us. Two options are involved,
firstly you can choose to have certain percentage of
the money or you can go into partnership with us for
proper profitable investment of the money in
your country. Whichever the option you want, feel
free to notify us. I will then officially communicate
with the security firm and instruct them to release
the deposit to you. The alternative would be for us to
have the security firm direct the funds to your
account. This way there will be no need for you to
think of receiving the money directly from the
security firm.

I am aware of the consequences of this proposal. I ask
that if you find no interest in this project you
should discard this mail. I ask that you do not be
destructive. If my offer is of no appeal to you,
delete
this message and forget I ever contacted you. Do not
destroy my career because you do not approve of my
proposal. You may not know this but people like me
have made tidy sum out of comparable situations like
this. I am not a criminal and what I do, I do not find
against good conscience,
this may be hard for you to understand, but the
dynamics of my industry dictates that I make this
move. Such opportunities only come ones way once in a
lifetime. If you will not work with us let us know and
let us move
on with our life but do not destroy us, we are family
men. I have evaluated the risks and the only risk we
have here is from you refusing to work with us and
alerting the South African authority.
I am the only one who
knows of this situation. If you give me positive
signals, I will give you the relevant details and
initiate this process towards a
conclusion.

I wish to inform you that should you choose to alert
the government; I will deny knowing you and about this
project. Please, again, note I am a family man, I have
wife and children. I send you this mail not without a
measure
of fear as to what the consequences, but I know
within me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and
that success and riches never come easy or on a
platter of gold. This is one truth I have learned in
life. Do not
betray my confidence.

Please contact us strictly on email zumajj@hotmail.com

I await your response.

Yours Sincerely,

Martin Seal.
