"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Beloved in the Lord,
I hope this meet you in good health.I am REV.RICHARD TONY MADU, a close friend to late Mr John Ramos, a nationality of your country, who was a foreign
contractor/engineer with Chevron Oil Company in Nigeria before his untimely death.
On the 6th Day of May 2002, it was reported to me that
my friend, and his family were involved in a Local Plane Crash at Kano State, all occupants in the Plane lost their lives, unfortunately on this same flight were other dignitaries like the Nigerian Sports Minister and a host of others. The following websites could be referenced:

Since then I have made several enquiries to your embassy to locate any of my friend extended family, this has also proved unsuccessful. After
these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his relatives/business partner through he Internet ,to locate any member of his family but to no avail,
hence i contacted you or anybody who may be willing to stand as next of kin /business partner to my late friend to claim his estate.
I have contacted you to assist in claiming the fund as the next of kin/business partner to my late friend before the fund being declared unserviceable by the
bank management, where this huge deposits were lodged.
Particularly, the central bank of nigeria, where the deceased had account valued at about US$two million four hundred thousand dollars, the management of the Bank has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin/business partner or have the account confiscated and declared to the Inland Revenue Commission
within the next fourteen official working days.
Since I have been unable to locate the deceased relatives for the past two years, hence i am now seeking your consent to present you as the next of kin/business partner of the deceased,so that the proceeds of this
account valued at US$two million four hundred thousand dollars can be released to you as the next of kin/business partner to my late friend and lodge the fund into your designated bank account in your country for our mutual benefits.
Thereafter ,both of us can share the proceeds .In this regards 50% of the proceeds will be for me, 40% to you and your company, while the remaining 10% should be for miscellaneous expenses or taxes as your government
may require. There are necessary legal documents that are to be procured to back up the claims/release of the funds to you.
All I require is your full cooperation and trust to enable us make this transaction a huge success and also send to me your private phone
number for easy communication.
I guarantee you, that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law in my country.Hope to be hearing from you.
Best Regards,
REV.RICHARD TONY
