"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FROM ME

Hello,
I am Mrs. Melissa Kimora Edwards, widow to Mr. Andre Edwards, My Late
Husband was a Petroleum Engineer who worked and jointly owned field
following the establishment of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation in 1983.

My Late Husband's Company reached an agreement with Ghana National
Corporation (GNC) along with a number of foreign firms. The most important
of these
permitted US-based Amoco to prospect in ten offshore blocks between Ada and
the western border with Togo. Petro Canada International prospected in
the Tano River Basin, and Diamond Shamrock in the Keta Basin. In 1989 three
companies, two American and one Dutch, spent US$30 million drilling wells
in
the Tano basin. On June 21, 1992, an offshore Tano basin well produced
about
6,900 barrels of oil daily. We also invested in The Ghana Cocoa sector
through the Ghana Divesture Agency until April 26th this year when he died.

He was a trained Engineer, he dedicated his life to helping the
underprivileged here in Ghana, He built a Hospital that cared for Orphanages
and for treatment of the sick where Government Hospitals were deficient, and
we had no child until he died of Prostrate Cancer.

From money made at his Hospital and Oil exploration, he had the intension
to set up a Foundation/Clinic for the care for Heart disease and Cancer
patients until death struck.

As his Cancer situation deteriorated we visited The University of Texas
M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas USA, his health situation worsened when
we arrived home in Ghana and died a month later April 26th.

Some Individuals here in Ghana did not like my Late Husband and since my
Late Husband's death there has been an attempt by some individuals here to
plunder our wealth and belongings, following the depression and loneliness
from the absence of my Late Husband with whom I have lived most of my life
and the discovery that there was an attempt by some individuals to divert or
plunder our assets including our money, the thought of all that worsened my
health situation, it was for this reasons I shipped most our valuables to
Europe, I have been diabetic, my Doctor (Dr Mtisi Colby)has expressed his
concern that my liver was affected, I am afraid I may not live too long .

Considering how some of these Ghanaians has treated me since my Late
Husband died (I must also confess that quite a lot has been nice) and having
sent all my Late Husband's money to Europe and my fear that I may die on a
date I don't know, I decided to make a choice that the money be directed to
an honest Humanitarian or a believer in helping me make efficient use of the
money even if I die. I am still on my sick Bed here at the General Hospital
in Accra Ghana

I need your open heartedness to stand in as next of kin or beneficiary, to
whom I can entrust this money such that it is used to better the lives of
these people in desperate need of help, please indicate your deep minded
willingness to help Children without parents, destitute, Orphanages and the
sick.

From my experience life and material acquisitions does not give happiness
in it's entirety, but joy and contentment in what we have and the desire to
give a helping hand to the
Needy give more joy. I shall nominate you as the trusty and shall inform my
Late Husband's Lawyer of all proceedings; this is necessary incase I die.
You may call me through my Doctor's telephone Dr Mtisi Colby : 00 233 243
908 298
Sincerely,

Mrs. Melissa A.K Edwards.
