"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Inquiry From Mike

Good Day!

I am the payment director in Mobil Exxon Unlimited. This e-mail maybe a
surprise to you as we have not met before but you need not to worry as I am
using this secured medium to contact you to assist me and my partner to
receive a package from a security company. This package will be leaving my
country in three days time to Europe where the security company is based.
You will get 30% for receiving the package from the security company by
courier. The content of the package is $15 million U.S dollars. Our company
is into Bloc and Crude Oil supplies world wide. This money is meant for our
customers in Europe.
We want to divert the money to you so that we all will share it among
ourselves. So we want you to send us the needed information below for us to
deposit the package(money) in your name. This package will be declared
company's materials.

We need these information from you to deposit the package in your care:

(1) Your full name (2) Your address (3) Mobile
Telephone number (4) Your international passport number for us to make the
deposit with your name.

We will deposit the package in your name as the rightful beneficiary and
after that we give you the: Code Number and The Tracking Number. Please send
