"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Re: Representatives Wanted

Dear Friend,

I am Dr. Morgan Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Import
& Exports Nigeria. My company exports cocoa and other goods/services for
world trade.

Presently we are searching for representatives in America and Canada to help
establishing a medium of a quick transaction with our foreign customers in
Europe
and America. Your duty as our representative will also include receiving
payment from our clients on our behalf.

Your role is very vital to us because most of our customers pay us with
Cheque and we do not have a foreign account to clear them. Therefore you
will be receiving the Cheque payments or Wire Transfers to your account as
our representative. This will make a lot easier, our transactions and quick
turn over.

It is on this note that we seek your assistance to stand as our
representative in your country. I can be reached on my direct cell phone:
+234-805-846-3349.

On every remittance or cheque clearance made through you as our
representative, 10% of the total sum would be deducted as your commission
while 90% would be wired to an account that would be provided to you by our
direct suppliers.

If you can honestly assist us with this arrangement, I will be so glad to
build up a life time contact with you overseas.

More so, I will appreciate you send me the followings via email if this
proposal is of interest to you so we can proceed with business as we have so
many customers waiting to be introduced to you as our foreign
representative.

(1)Your full names,
(2)Contact address and,
(3)Phone/fax numbers.

Regards,

Dr. Morgan Jones,
President/ CEO,
Royal Import/Export co.
Goods for Import/Export
Freight Forwarding Services.
