"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: VERY URGENT

URGENT BUSINESS TRANSACTION

First I must solicit your strictest confidence in this transaction, this is
by virtue of its nature being utterly confidential and top secret.

I am Mr. John Ogochukwu, the Manager, Investment Banking & Treasury of
Standard Chartered Bank Plc,Lagos.I write to seek your co-operation and
assistance for the transfer of US$8,645,000.00(Eight Million Six Hundred and
Forty Five Thousand United States Dollars) to your personal account.

THE SOURCE OF THE FUND IS AS FOLLOWS:
On January 4,2002, a German Construction Engineer with Silos Commercial Bins
Structural Steel Company Plc, Engr. Bechenbauer Krockow Koeppel made a
number Deposit for twelve calendar months, valued at US$7,000,000.00(Seven
Million United States Dollars) in our bank.

Upon maturity,January 2003,we sent a notification to his office but no
reply.After a month,we discovered from his contract employer,the Silos
Commercial Bins Structural Steel Company Plc that Engr.Bechenbauer Krockow
Koeppel died in an auto crash with his family.

However, he did not declare any kin or relation in his Bank Deposit
documents in our Bank. This sum of US$7,000,000.00 is still floating in our
Bank-vault and the interest had been rolling over with the principal sum at
the end of each year for three years to the tune of US$8,645,000.00.

According to our Banking Law,at the expiration of three(3)years after
matuarity, the money will be reverted to Nigerian Government Treasury if no
foreigner applies to claim the fund with documentary evidence as the Next of
kin/relation since the money belongs to a foreigner.

Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you as an individual to stand
in as the next of kin to Late Engr.Bechenbauer Krockow Koeppel so that the
fund will not get confiscated in line with the governing policy.

This is simple, I will like you to provide immediately your current
address, telephone and fax numbers so that I will employ the service of an
Attorney to validate our claim by preparing the necessary legal documents
and affidavit in your name that will put you in place as the Beneficiary of
the sum of US$8.645M.

The total sum of US$8,645,000.00 will be paid into your local bank account
through our correspondence banks as our bank maintains offshore payments
relationship with other banks in UK,U.S.A,Canada,Netherlands,Belgium and
Switzerland .There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this
transaction will be done by the lawyer and my position in the bank
guarantees the successful execution of this transfer. I have decided to take
US$5M and leave the balance of US$3.645M for you as a Foreign Partner
standing as the next of kin.

Upon your response, I shall then provide you with relevant documents that
will help you understand the transaction better. Please observe utmost
confidentiality, and be rest assured that this transaction would be most
profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest
part of my share in your state when I come over after the money must have
entered your local bank account.

Best regards,
Dr.John Ogochukwu
