"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

From: "barristerzefi sokol" <barrzefi_sokol@hotmail.com>
Date: Wed, 09 Nov 2005 10:10:00 +0100
Subject: Barrister Zefi Sokol.

Attention: Shamekia Craig,
This documents I send to you is the one you will use to apply to the Zenith
Bank International of Nigeria PLC for the realizing of the fun not to your
Bank, if you use this documents to apply to the Zenith Bank, they will tell
you on how you will receive the money, write small letter to introduce
yourself to them by telling them that you are the nest of kin to Late Mr.
Martin Chey and you attach this documents I send to you and send them to the
Zenith Bank. It is this documents I send to you will identify you to the
Zenith Bank International of Nigeria PLC as the next of kin and now your
