Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your response to my rquest and I assure you that with you full
cooperation, we will achieve this deal. I will hanle all legality so that
nothing incriminating will get to us. We shall be above board in all
provedures.
However, for us to commence, I will require your full profile and necessary
details that will describe who you are, and also to begin the documentation
and intial processing of the necessary documnets.
Secondly, it is also very important to inform you that this deal will
require us to spend some money in getting everything straightened out before
the inherittance can be transfered to you, for our favour. For this reason,
you must assure me that you will be ready to bare all the expenses with me
since we are going to be working as partners. If it is agreeable by you, I
am willing to share the proceeds with you on the 60/40% basis. That is, 60%
for me, and 40% for you. So, all expenses incidental to actualising this
deal will also be shared by both of us.
So, my dear, I am coming out straight with you and you should be same with
me, this way we know where we are going and our desired aim will be achieved
with minimal stress.
