"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your Very Kind Attention

Dear Sir,
I represent Hansil International Ltd in Japan. We are importers and exporters of electronics and software, industrial chemicals such as Polymeric Polyol and other allied products all over the globe.
We are seeking the services of dynamic and enterprising middlemen to facilitate our transactions with our customers in America, Europe and Asia.
It is our honest believe that you will bring your wealth of experience and your managerial ability to bear on this partnership to ensure success. Selected middlemen will also act as payment officers for Hansil International Ltd. Approved middlemen will be entitled to 10% (ten percent) of any payment cleared for H.I. Ltd while the balance will be remitted into any of our offshore accounts which will be availed to you upon agreement.
Interested individuals/companies are duely implored to forward a letter of intent containing the following: (a) Full Names (b) Contact Address (c) Telephone and Fax numbers to this office not later than one week from the date of receipt of this mail via this email address.
