"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Greetings!

Please Pardon my intrusion into your privacy. I urgently seek for a credible
business partner, which is why I am compelled to make this proposition to
you for a confidential business transaction I wish to conclude soonest.

My name is Dr. Dele Roberts, The Director of Accounts, Budget & Planning, of
the Federal Ministry of Power Mines and steel, Regional Headquarters, Lagos
- Nigeria.

MY PROPOSITION

I seek your endorsement to assist me conclude the transfer of the sum of
US$5,000,000 (Five million United States Dollars) only. The funds originated
from a number of amendments on already completed contracts awarded to a
Foreign Company last year.

After the original contractor has been paid, the contract details was
reviewed from its original value of US$25.315 Million to US$30.315 Million,
thereby representing an increase of US$5 Million. The US$5 million is
presently in a domiciliary bank account operated by my ministry.

The Job description of the contract is a follows:

THE ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICITY GENERATING PLANTS AT THE FEDERAL
MINISTRY OF POWER MINES AND STEEL – AJAOKUTA STEEL COMPLEX SITE.

CONTRACT NUMBER: MEGP-A/FGN/V1761/1LSCON-2/04.

OUTSTANDING CONTRACT VALUE: US$5,000,000 MILLION

CONTRACT COMPLETION CERTIFICATE NUMBER: MEGP-A/FGN –2/04: 5320071

Therefore, as soon as we conclude the details of the deal, and every
document must have been put in place, the US$5 million will be transferred
directly through swift telegraphic transfer to any nominated bank account of
yours that can hold such funds.

Consequently, in return I have agreed to offer you 30% of the total sum
while 10% will be set aside for expenses in the transfer procedure, and 60%
will be kept in a trust fund with your assistance in the name of my family.

Please do not send your response to the email address from where you
received this mail. Send your response only to my confidential email
address: <delepowersteel@hotmail.com> for further confidential details and
also a telephone number where I can reach you immediately.

NOTE: Do not respond or disclose the content of this mail to anyone else
