"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: HELP!!

Dear friend,
I hope I do not embarass you with this mail.I came across your profile
in a human resource database on the internet and decided to contact you
in my private search for someone I can frankly talk to and assist me in
an issue which is most pressing to me.Though I know my decision to contact
you is to a large extent unconventional, the prevailing circumstances
necessitated my action.

My name is Mrs Dorothy Kajeta, a Dutch national .I was widowed 7 months
ago when my husband Dr. Festus O.Kajeta who was an automobile merchant
based in UK [may his soul rest in perfect peace] lost his life
in a ghastly motor accident.
Life has really been tough without him and I was extremely shocked to
learn upon the death of my husband that he willed virtually all his
possession to his ex-wife and their children.I beleive my husband loved me
very much and can not really fanthom his reason for doing this, and
sometimes I think to myself that maybe it was because i bore him no child.

Two months back I was diagnosed with cancer of the cervix which is
complicated by fibriods and now my health situation has degnerated so
badly. My doctor have informed me that the situation is irredemable due to
lateness in detection and that the illness has assumed a
terminal dimension.According to the doctors I may last for another 5
months ,however I thank God for a fufilling life.
Before my husband died ,he made plans to set up an ultra modern amusement
and recreational facility in our home country,Holland and for this purpose
he had deposited the sum of 8.4 million U.S. dollars via a security
company with which we hoped to start a new lease of life in
Holland. These funds were deposited under a joint ownership of my late
husband and I have made up my mind to set up trust fund that would
provide assistance to missionary and other charitable causes through
donations and it is in this regard that I need your assistance.
Since this fund were jointly deposited in me and my husbands name I now
remain the sole signatory to this fund and have contacted a lawyer on the
legalities for effecting a change of beneficiary so that a God fearing
person would stand as the beneficiary to the fund becasaue right now I am
in a bedridden state in the United Kingdom.
I want to ensure that this money is used judiciously to impact on lifes
of people even if I am no more.So I wish to setup a trust fund in my
name that willl leave a lasting legacy.
For your assistance I will be prepared to offer you 20% of the total
funds, while 70% will be used to set up a trust fund in my name for the
fulfillment of my wish.We shall set aside 5% for any expenses that
might be incurred in the course of the transfer of the funds to you and
setting up of the trust fund.
I expect your urgent response for any delay in responding to my
mail will give me the room to source for someone else to assist me.I
hope to trust you and build a mutually beneficial relationship with you
.You can reply to me on my private mail box need_assistanturgently@yahoo.co.uk

Remain blessed
Mrs. Dorothy Kajeta
