"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE:PLEASE I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE

Dear Honorable one,

I am Temma Songlo, from Darfur in Sudan. I am anorphan being that I lost my parents on 20th November 2004 in the latest internal political crisis between the Rebels,Lead by Mr. Nasir Al-Tijani in which many lives and properties were destroyed. My father, Engr. Dantata Songlo was serving as the chairman Khor Abeche Local Government Diamond/Gold miners association, of Darfur in Sudan until his death.

The rebels following the political uprising assassinated him last November. Before his death he had a foreign account in Europe up to the tune of $20.5 Million US Dollars, which he told me as the next of kin,the money was for the importation of mining equipments for the establishment of his proposed mining industries in Sudan and Cote d' Ivoire after his retirement. I want you to do me a favor to receive these funds to a safe account in your country or any safer place as the beneficiary and as the foreign partner who was to supply mylate father with the equipments. I have plans to do investment in your country on Diamond/Gold and industrial production and arrange for our relocation.

This is my reason for writing to you. Please if you are willing to assist me and my only Brother, indicate your interest in replying soonest giving us your company's name and on hearing from you, I will give you further information about how you can be able to claim the money from where it was deposited for our safe keeping pending our coming to your country for our own share and investment. We are presently in the Economic Community of West African States,Refugee Rehabilitation Center (Asylum Camp) in Cote d' Ivory. And I have refused to tell any one about this except you.

Yours Sincerely,
Temma Songlo.
