"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: DEAR SIR/MADAM,


DEAR SIR/MADAM,

I know you will be surprised to receive this mail, considering the fact that
we don’t know each other, However I got your contact details from the
internet network search, before I precedes, I wont fail to introduce myself,
I am Mr. frank Benjamin Jnr the son of late major frank Benjamin who was
assassinated two years ego by the rebels. My father was the Personal
assistance to the former president of Liberia who has resigned from his
office due to pressures from the opposition parties and the international
community.
My late father deposited the sum of 5.5 million in a private security
company as vaults here in South Africa, my late father deposited the money
in a metallic boxes while he was alive amounting (5.5 million dollars) for
our family investments he said and I quote in case of death, that we should
look for a foreign partner to assist us invest with this money,

I am here now in south Africa as an asylum seeker and have limited rights on
fund, base on this fact’s I am seeking for your assistance to assist me
transfer the money into your bank account for investments. My family is
going to offer you 30% of the total sum after the money is transferred into
your bank account. if you are interested in helping us invest with this
money please send your telephone and fax number or email me back
immediately, or send your number so that I will call you to tell you more.
