"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am in receipt of your email and do understand your surprise in this
regard, however permit me to say Congratulations once more as you have
emerged one of the three winners in the 6 Ball Games lottery 3rd category
draw and thereby entitled to a cash price of £2,000,000.00. Be informed that
the 3rd category draw is a promotional draw, that means a free lottery draw.
As such you do not necessarily have to buy tickets to be part of this
program, as names of selected individuals and companies were entered into a
computer balloting system. The motive for the 3rd category draw is because 6
Ball Games lottery are planning to start selling tickets internationally
before the year runs out, as such they are having this promotion for people
to be aware of their activities and services before they actually come out
to start selling tickets, internationally. Note that the 3rd category draw
is finance from the proceeds of the 1st and 2nd categories respectively.
