"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

SEEKING FOR FINANCIAL ASSETS INVESTMENTS INFORMATION

Greetings from our family! We regret the surprise, which receiving this letter may bring to you. My nameis Mr. mike Jaffar. I am the son of late Capt.Johnson Jaffar. We are from Kono, the Diamond-richdistrict of Sierra Leone. My father until his suddendeath was the G.O.C-General Officer Commanding the 1st
mechanized Armored Division of the Sierra Leonian Armybefore the intervention of well-armed allied forces,ECOMOG. You may recall the coup d’tat that ousted thelegitimate government of Alhaji Tejan Kabba, the former Democratic elected President of Sierra Leone byMajor Johnny Paul Koroma and his rebel forces. The civil strife, which saw the intervention of the Ecowas-Led Monitoring Group (Ecomog), was politicized as it metamorphosed to the scramble for the control of strategic government natural reserve (Diamond). The Koroma-led government, in an effort to sustain the war with well-armed Ecomog forces extensively used the proceeds of the Raw Diamond sales.
As is usually the case in any third world countries, under the throes of civil disorder; looting, arson and rape became the order of the day. Sierra Leone
National Treasury was looted. My late father benefited from the looting in the amount of US$12 million (twelve million United States dollars), which he
smartly deposited in the secured vaults, inside the security house of a reputable Security Company under guise, here in the Republic of South Africa.

You can now imagine the predicament our family is in and why we need someone dependable and fully committed to this process. Someone with perseverance who can assist us in the actualization of transferring this money out of South Africa for our family investments, in a stable economy, as we do not know when the civil unrest in our country will finally end. And in the end our family shall be happy to pay a whopping 25% of the total money as share commission to you, for your honest assistance and expertise.

If you are willing to genuinely guide us in investing our late father’s financial assets profitably, please, contact us via our family fax or telephone numbers indicated above, with the investment information, opportunities and government tax systems in your country.Your earliest confirmation of the receipt of this proposal will enable us to conclude this transaction,on time. We look forward to your favorable response while we hold this communication in the strictest
confidence. Thank you for accepting to work with our family.

Yours truly,
MIKE JAFFAR
(For The Family)
