"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Private Tel/fax:

Dear Sir/Ma,
I am Mrs. Dora Martins, deposit accrediting officer with a security
company here in the Uk. I have a classified information which I would like
to intimate you with. I wish to solicit your utmost confidenciality for
the claim of a consignment with my company. I came to know of you in my
private search for a reliable person to handle a confidential
transaction which involves huge sum of money. This transaction is about a
deposit made by late Peggy Stockley who unfortunately died while returning
from her country from a business trip on January 31, 2000, aboard Alaska
Airlines Flight 261 which crashed into the Pacific Ocean not far from
Los Angeles. You can take your time and verify from the website as shown
herein for confirmation of the crash:

Having heard of the tragic incident all efforts made by the security
company and the management to get in touch with any of her family to date
has been fruitless, while this deposited consignment is still sitting
in my company. I however personally found out that she died with her
husband and had no child or children that is known to us. I infact deem
this as an opportunity of a life time. The amount of the said fund is
worth US$15.2 Million Dollars. It is actually with a heart full hope that
I wrote you; soliciting for your strict confidence in this transaction.
As the Deposit Accrediting Officer I had the privilege of knowing the
content of the consignment, even though this was declared as personal
effects.
Apparently, my proposal is that I will like you to stand in as the
original Next of Kin to the deceased since the company has been
unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 4 years now. I would like you to
apply to my company as the original Next of Kin/Beneficiary to the All
needed paperwork for this transaction will be done by an attorney for
the release of the consignment to you; and my position as an insider
guarantees to a great extent the successful execution of this transaction.
Basically once the consignment is released to you, you will be required
to pay it into your account for us to share in the ratio of 60% for me
and 40% for you being the account owner. So please reply immediately to
enable me give you more details that will help you understand the
transaction better.
Although a transaction of this magnitude might make anyone
apprehensive, but I'm assuring you that I'm sending you this information with the
best of intentions. Hence, all I require is your honest cooperation.
Just be rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable to
both of us as I shall need your advise and assistance on lucrative areas
for investment. So if this proposal is acceptable by you, kindly reply
me immediately you get this mail. As soon as I receive an
acknowledgement of the receipt of this message in acceptance, I will immediately
start up with the process.
Conclusively, I would like you to immediatelyfurnish me with your
private mobilephone/fax numbers as well as your full names and address to
enable me validate some documents in my office file for the release of
the consignment in your favor as the next of kin.
Looking forward to getting a favorable response from you.
Thank you in anticipation for your understanding and co-operation.

Yours Sincerely,
Dora Martins
