"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your Kind attention.

Dear Friend,
Greetings and wishing you a new year of great success in all your
endevour. How are you and your family? Hope everything is fine as expected?
To make you less curious, I am Solomon Thomas the personal assistant to the
Former Inspector General of police, Federal Republic Of Nigeria who was all
edged of financial probe while in office and still under the custody of
Investigation committee that was set up by the Federal Government to
investigate his financial success.

My boss is presently serving a six month jail term for mismanagement of
government funds and still have a court case for different count charges
which are unde investigation, he could not make any private and confidential
communications due to his present predicament hence the reason for me
contacting you on his behalf for a kind assistance that will be of mutual
benefit to us. Before the arrest of my boss, he had two trunk boxes
containing cash $75MUSD, which he deposited in the vault of a financial
institution in Cotonou, Republic of Benin secretly. He told the financial
institution that the funds was for the importation of cocoa processing
machines to develop his wife's cocoa farm here in Nigeria.

I want you to do us a favor to receive this trunk boxes containing the cash
and lodge the money to a banking system in your base or any safer place as
the beneficiary without raising eyebrow from any quarter. We have plans to
do investment in your country, like real estate and industrial production.
This is my reason for calling and writing to you. I got your contact from
the international email directory when on a search for a responsibe person
like yurself who could help in this regard.
Kindly see this as a help to act as the new beneficiary to the funds so that
the Government will not seize the money or rather found out about the money
because they will want to lay hand on it and use it to prosecute my boss.
Already the incumbent government had seized all his money and confisticated
all his bank account. The earlier the better as they say.

However, be inform that all modality for hitch free transaction have been
put in place. I was at the financial institution at Cotonou, Republic of
Benin last week to make some findings about the safety of the funds.
Actually everything was okay but we are not comfortable about the money
still laying there for security reason hence our motive to move the funds
offshore to a safer place where a reliable and trustworthy person like
yourself could help lay claim to it as the rightful beneficiary and lodge in
a banking system so that the government will not lay their hand on the cash.

Prior to my findings with the financial institution in Cotonou, I was told
that they can help ship the trunk boxes through their Diplomatic Courier
Service (DCS) to their affiliate security firms offshore. Please endeavor to
take this as help, however, you need to be rest assured of hitch free
transaction in the name of God because all modality for hitch free delivery
shall be put in place.

I await your kind reply so that we can forge ahead in good faith. Thanks in
anticipation and God bless you.

Regards,

Solomon Thomas.
