"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

I am Mr. Joyle Alexandre(Esq.)from the United Kingdom.
On February 3rd 2005, one of our contract staff whose
first name is Mr. Thomas and bear the same surname
with you, who worked as a major technical contractor
with Shell exploration & production U.K, a subsidiary
of the body (Shell Petroleum), lost his life along
with his wife and children on their way to Kabul,
Afghanistan from Herat after boarding Kam Air Flight:
904 AC Type: Boeing B-737-242, which crashed into
11,000 ft. Chaperi Mountain 20 miles east of Kabul.
Before his death the deceased has a private deposit
with a security and finance company in Dublin, Ireland
which worth Twenty Five Million United States Dollar
($25,000,000)in cash. As his attorney, and since i am
the only one who knows about this deposit, I have
traveled to the security company in Dublin, Ireland to
make claims on the deposit, and was told that the only
person who can claim the deposit is the deceased next
of kin.
Since i am the lawyer to my late client,
it will be a better opportunity for both of us to work
together, that is the reason why i have decided to
contact you so that you can help claim the deposit.
The security company has assured me that as soon as i
present the deceased next of kin/beneficiary, that the
consignments will be physically released without
further questions. Be informed that your gratification
for assisting me to claim this money shall be 30%,
while the remaining 70% shall be for me.

I want you to assure me that you will not take
advantage of my position in anyway. Be assured that
there is absolutely nothing to worry about in the view
of this transaction, as it is perfectly safe with no
risk involved and it is not subject to any enquiry,
since i (the deceased attorney) will be handling the
claims directly on your behalf.

Acknowledge the receipt of this letter immediately and
include your personal direct telephone/fax numbers for
fast and easy communication. Please reply me with my private email address:
