"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

DEAR DIRECTOR.

URGENT AND CONFIDENTIAL

May God bless and be with you as you receive and go through this message.
Thank you for the positive response that I am expecting from you. I got
your contact information when I was on a private research going through some
business directory/pamphlets and the internet looking for a reliable,
trusted and capable person who can support me in resolving my present
situation. Sorry for using this medium to contact you for a lucrative
transaction of this kind, I did this for the confidentiality of the
transaction to ensure that I am dealing with the right person. Before I go
further, it is important for you to know me.

I am Mr. NKOSI KOROMA, personal/private accounting officer to President
Charles Taylor of Liberia. My reason of writing you for assistance is to
support me in the transfer of (US$30,000,000.00)United States Dollars to
your personal or company account in your country. As the personal
accountant to the president, I keep accounts of his private account/savings,
which he has within the country.

The accounts are setup in my names for his confidentiality. When the war
started in the country where by the rebels wants to eliminate him and his
followers, I decided to relocate and save my life and my family. So I have
to withdraw this amount from the account to sustain my future leaving. With
the help of a friend who is a flight officer we manage to move the fund
through diplomatic means out of Liberia. Presently, I am residing in South
Africa as a refugee (asylum seekers) with my family where the fund is
presently deposited with a private Security and Financial Company as
consignment named family valuables. I did this to secure the money, I
couldn’t even disclose the actual content deposited because it was unsafe to
do so and if the Security Company is aware that it is money of such amount
deposited with them, I may loose it all.

I am willing to offer you 20% of the whole money for the inconveniences this
will cost you and for using your account, while 5% for any expenses that
both you and I might incur during the process of the transaction. Then 75%
will be for me, to setup a profitable venture in your country with your
advice and directions. Contact me immediately either by email or the above
telephone number, indicating your interest as soon as possible, on receiving
of your acceptance, I shall be glad to give you more clarification on the
modalities needed for smooth and successful completion of this transaction.

Please re-confirm your direct phone and fax numbers in your reply. I
anticipate your quick response.

Best regards,

MR NKOSI KOROMA.
