"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Assalamualaikum

Assalamualaikum!

Dear Brothers/Sisters

May the peace of Allah (SWT) and his prophet, Mohammed (peace be upon him), remain with you all.

This massage is for all of us, the ones who obey and follow the teachings of Islam with all their heart. The massage is a revelation aimed at fostering the unity and course of Islam. Please keep this massage very close and dear to your heart (if you really follow the doctrines/teachings of the great Islamic religion), as it is a test of your love and devotion to Islam.

Our Organisation "Islamic Africa Movement", an Islamic movement based in South Africa, with a membership of over 200 elite/professional devotees was set up in 2001, essentially with the view to fostering the Islamic faith and helping all of us to reach our full potential. Our major aim/objective is to give Muslims the opportunity to travel freely around the world.

Following the recent blasphemous cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) in the newspapers in Denmark and other countries and the protests/demonstrations around the world, our organization is of the view that the Islamic communities around the world did not do enough to protect the religion.

We will be letting our great religion down if we all sit and do nothing about this to address the problem. So our organization is discussing and are on the verge of concluding arrangements with three Southern African countries (1) Swaziland (2) Botswana and (3) Lesotho, to issue International passports to our registered members only (as economic investors). These passports will give members the advantage of traveling freely around the world without any let or hindrance on the basis of country of origin. We will need your financial assistance to conclude this Nobel arrangement. This is an opportunity for all Muslim devotees to participate in practicing what we preach and fostering the Islamic movement.

We will need to invest about $10million in each of these countries (on behalf of our members) to enable us acquire such status for our members. We expect to register about 20,000 members by the end of this year. So if you feel the urge to register, please do not hesitate to do that immediately. You can reach us via e-mail at “islamicafrica at webmail dot co dot za (islamicafrica@webmail.co.za).

You are also allowed to register family and friends or you can just make a financial donation to us our course.

We challenge you to get up and do something now. Brothers/Sisters, how would you like to give account of yourself when you are dead? Take a moment to think about it. Would you like to be a devoted Muslim who had the opportunity, but did nothing? So this is a big challenge to all of us, an opportunity to do the right thing in the name of Allah (SWT).

May the peace of Allah (SWT) continue to be with all of you.

Ali Jamal
Coordinator
