"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Subject: compliments................

Dear,friend.

With solemnity and respect, I beg for your sincere
understanding and handle my mail with attention and
care. I am Nelson Balder, one of the sons of Mr. John
Balder of Zimbabwe, who was murdered in cold blood by
the agent of the ruling government of President Robert
Mugabe because my father was against the method
adopted by the government on new land reform act that
wholly affected the white farmers in Zimbabwe.

I am in my middle twenties of age, and also a student.
Early last two years, my late dad revealed to me about
his deposit in London, as if he foresaw the looming
danger in Zimbabwe according to my late father, the
money was for buying of farm lands in Lesotho,
Swaziland, and also machinery for the farms.
Sir, after the death of my father, we left Zimbabwe to
Ghana, which is where we are presently, residing as an
asylum seeker. It is against this background that my
family has mandated me to seek assistance to transfer
this money to a foreign account for investment
purposes. Based on my family decision, I have
contacted the bank in London, they then enlightened me
that my late father's instructed them that before his
deposit could be tampered in any way in his absence,
that the following proofs must be presented his Next
of Kin (which is I) or satisfied power of attorney
signed by his Next of kin, a closed business/political
associate of his (which must be proved by the next of
kin), and most especially a proof of his absence.

However, my problem now is, I cannot invest this money
here in Ghana because Zimbabwe and Ghana are close
countries and have almost the same political history.
And with the financial laws of Ghanaian government, as
an asylum seeker, I have no right to own or operate a
bank account in my name here in Ghana. From the above,
you can understand that my entire life and family's
future depends on this money.

Please sir, my main objective of contacting you is to
seek for your sincere and honest assistance in the
following ways:

1. To come represent as my father's business associate
and also to help me so that this fund could be secured
in another account (which you will provide or help
create) for safety.

2. To help me in making a good educational
arrangements so that my younger ones and I can
continue our education in your country.

3. To help make a good investment plans so this fund
could be utilized and managed properly.

Please sir, I desperately need your assistance, so
that my family and I cloud start back our normal life.
As you can see, this is one of the future reliance of
my younger once and I, since our father is dead. Sir,
I know you are in the position to help us, and all we
need from you is honesty and sincerity, as you would
be for your own children and we are willing to work
with you after we have secured this money.

Please if you are willing to assist us, reply to my lawyer with your note
of acceptance. Please don't withhold your succour to
us and if for any reason you cannot afford to assist
us you can still direct us to somebody who can help us.

Thanks for the attention.

Nelson Balder.
