"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings.

My Dear,
I am writing to you with respect and honour. This demand is from a family
that was once among the first class citizen in our Country know as Ivory
coast in West African Region. But presently suffering due to the present
Government humiliation lead by Roland Gbagbo.

My name is Issaka Modibo the son of the late former minister for finance of
the Republic of Ivory Coast (Cote d'ivoire). With the conclusion of the
whole family, we have decided to contact a foreign partner in this very
important issue based on the condition and situation of things. I know that
the arrival of this letter to you may be a surprise and a little confusion
as you don’t know me or my family before. But with every indication it is
for a perfect good for the two parties. Presently, we are in Ouagadougou,
Burkina Faso like refugees

To hit the nail at the head, My late father is Mr. IBU MODIBO the finance
minister during the time of Late Gen. Robert Guei who took over the
Government on the 24th of December 1999. My late father was opportune to
become one of his ministers. During my late father’s days as minister for
finance, He made a lot of wealth knowing fully well that one day they must
step down for another regime. Due to his position in the government he don’t
have right to own a foreign account. Based on this, he decided to deposit a
handsome amount of money in a security company out side Africa as family
Treasure and Antiquities. This money is well secured inside trunk iron box
which my father never told the security company authority the real content.
The content of the iron safe is $25.3million USD. (Twenty-five million,
three hundred thousand united states dollars). My late father deposited this
vault some where that I will tell you later on the 15th of April 2001. Note,
the security company authority registered this vault as “Family Treasure and
Antiquities.

Unfortunately to the Regime of Gen. Robert Guei, Notorious criminals called
rebels came with force, with the support of the present president Mr. Roland
Gbagbo because of his failure in the Presidential Election. Mr. Gbagbo
brought a heavy confusion that lead the whole country in almost a civil war.
Along the line Rebel became about five groups according to ethnic groups.
Then secret assassinations took place. It was then that the then Government
of Robert Guei failed and he ran away and later came back silently to
participate in the public National reconciliation in order to put the
country back in order on September 2002 but all in vain. On the 19th of
September 2002 the great rebel leader know as Guillaume SOLO from the North
invaded the city and killed 15 former ministers including Gen. Robert Guei.
It was during this storm that my father died.

Presently all the document concerning the deposited Vault is with us and the
secret remained with the family. Now I am contacting you based on the
condition signed by my father and the security company authority in the
customer’s agreement. They stated that, in a situation where by the original
depositor is not physically present, his next of kin must be companied with
his foreign partner, and there is no name specified. That is the reason why
I am contacting you to stand as my late father’s foreign partner and help me
release this vault. I believe that it is better for us to discuss the
possible percentage when you accept this proposal and contact me for further
details. You should contact me with email for now till we agreed on a solid
point, I will then forward my possible mobile number for phone talks. May
the Almighty God bless as you as you read this mail. Waiting to hear from
you urgently.

Yours faithfully,
ISSAKA MODIBO.
