"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Good Day,

I am Dr. BENJAMIN OLISE Director in charge of claims and indemnity of

FIDELITY TRUST INSURANCE COMPANY and I write with great pleasure onbehalf of

the Late MR. ROBERT FINKELSTEIN an American who unfortunately lost his life

in the plane crash in Nigeria Sunday, 23 October 2005, 21:30 GMT 22:30 UK ,

including his wife (Thelma) and their only daughter (Sheryl) when they were

heading to Abija for a vacation .

Here is the web site for your reference and records,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4368516.stm

Since we got the information about his death, we have been expecting his

next of kin or relatves to come over and claim his Inheritance worth about

E19.3M ( Nineteen Milliom, Three Hundred Thousand British Pounds Sterlin)

which he deposit with us before his death, because we cannot release it

unless somebody applies for it as the next of kin or relation as stipulated

in our guidelines.

Since the day we got the information about his death, we have made several

enquiries to his embassy to locate any of his extended families or relatives

since we were left with all the necessary documentations that will stand as

an evidence of claim to his Inheritance, but all effort has proved abortive

so far as we learnt that his supposed next of kin being his only daughter

(Sheryl) died along with him in the plane crash in Nigeria Sunday, 23

October 2005, 21:30 GMT 22:30 UK , when they were heading to Abija for a

vacation . leaving nobody with the knowledge of his Inheritance.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I as the Executive Director in

charge of claims and indemnity and two other officials in this department

now decided to seek for your consent if only it will be your wish for us to

present you as the distant cousin to the decease person, So that the

proceeds of his account valued at about E19.3M ( Nineteen Milliom, Three

Hundred Thousand British Pounds Sterlin) can be routed into your bank

account as designated there in your country, since nobody is coming for it

and we dont want this money to go back into Government treasury as unclaimed

Bill. Hence, The INSURANCE law and guidelines here stipulates that such

money after five months will be transferred into Government treasury as

unclaimed funds.

After the Inheritance has been transfered into your Bank account, I and my

colleagues will have to come over to your country and have our own share of

the money or a bank-to-bank transaction shall be used to remit our own share

of the money into a designated Bank Account here in my country.

I guarantee you that this Business will be executed under a legitimate

arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law and be further

informed that everyones interest and security had been considered before you

were contacted, so be rest assured and feel free to go into this transaction

with us.

As per the mode of sharing, We have agreed that 20% of this Inheritance will

be for you as the foreign partner, 70% will be for me and my colleagues

while the remaining 10% will be mapped out for all the expences that will be

incured throughout the duration of this transaction. Hence, all we require

from you is your Honest co-operation and faithfulness to enable us work as

one family.

Please In the event of your inability to handle this transaction , kindly

inform us ASAP so that we can look for another Reliable and trustworthy

person who can assist in this Respect.

Awaiting your urgent and favourable response.

Regards,

DR.BENJAMIN OLISE.
