"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attention: Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter with due respect and hatful of tears since we have
not known or met ourselves previously. I am asking for your assistance to
help me for business investment.

I came across your profile and I feel it's highly reputable that is why I
pick an interest getting across to you in respect of investment at my
disposal. I will be so glad if you can allow me and lead me to the right
channel towards your assistance to my situation now. I will make my proposal
well known to you if I am given the opportunity.

Thus, I have to introduce myself to you I am Miss. JUDITH OTI KELVIN from
Liberia, 24 years old and the only daughter of my late parents Chief and
Mrs. Kelvin Onwun. My father is now late; he died three years back during
the last and current crisis in my country (Liberia). My father was a highly
reputable business magnate-(a cocoa merchant) and one of the top traditional
ruling council in the leadership of formal president Charles Taylor who is
now in exile after many innocent souls
were killed; my father was unlucky to be one among those that were killed by
the rebel. My mother died when I was just 11 years old, and since then my
father took me so special. Before his death on February 12th 2003.

My main reason why I am contacting you now is to seek your assistance in the
area of my future investment, I have a huge amount of money in my
possession. This money (US$18.5 Million) was deposited/kept in American
security and finance company in Europe some years ago by my father
before his death and he made me the sole beneficiary (next of kin) as the
only daughter to the fund.

I want you to assist me in clearing this fund into your account overseas as
the beneficiary of the fund, and help me to investment the fund for business
purpose.

I am just 24 years old and a high school leaving certificate holder and
really don't know what to do with the money. Now I want a foreign partner
overseas to transfer this fund and invest it for a profitable business. This
is because I have suffered a lot of set backs as a result of incessant
political crisis here in Liberia. The death of my father actually brought
sorrow to my life.

Dearest one, I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this
regards, your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded.

Now permit me to ask these few questions:-

1. Can you honestly help me as a friend?
2. Can I completely trust you?
3. What percentage of the total amount value will be good for you after the
money is in your account and for your assistance?

Please, Consider this and get back to me as soon as possible through my
private email address: otijudith@netscape.net, and I will like you to
forward your name and address, telephone and fax number if you are willing
to have the relevant documents to confirm the existence of the fund for
verification from the security company and to confirm the authenticity of my
proposal to you also for easy communication.

Thank you so much.

My sincere regards,
Miss. JUDITH OTI KELVIN.
