"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: from Hajia Mariam

Madam Hajia Mariam Jumai.
House No.9/10 Manet gardens.
Accra-Ghana.
Greetings,
I got your full contact details through your country's website while I was in a desperate search to contact a neutral and God fearing individual who would be a business counter-part and as such after the sucessful conclusion of the deal would not in anyway cheat me out of the deal because I am a woman.
Nevertheless, before I continue with this to be a life long business deal, I would like to tender my sincere apology as due process would demand that I come to your country or a neutral place to discuss this confidential deal with you and not to contract you through an email transmision.
Coming to what exactly prompted this proposal, I am madam Hajia Mariam Jumai, personal assistance to the late Chief Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, the wife of the incumbent president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Lt.Gen.(rtd) chief Olusegun Obasanjo. As you might know, Stella died while on a "Medical Trip" to Spain.
What I am about to reveal to you is highly confidential and I would appreciated that you mentain the same. I have decided to reveal beat of confidential information reason that you would like to know few details before you would like to help me.Investigations still looms over the circumstances surrounding her death. My movement is restricted, phones could be bugged or tapped, you might not know. This is reason I have to desperately contract you first through your email address.
Before Stella's trip to Spain, I and she had sucessfully through diplomatic means moved accros the border a total sum of USD$120M (One Hundred and Twenty Million United States Dollars) cash in three tranches of electronically seal metallic trunk boxes now safely lodged in a security vault in Ghana. All negotiation as regards to the onward movement of the cash oversea has been concluded from this side and it was on her trip to Spain to meet face-to-face with the counter-part for formal discussion and finalisation of the deal and before this meeting as destiny would have it, medical report states that she developed complications and died.
Now, most importantly,I want you as a counter-part who would come and lay claim to the cash. Fortunately, I have acesss to the safe where all the legal hard documents of these trunk boxes are and really if you could come forth and under the auspice of an attorney,we can genuinely pull the deal through together. I guarantee that it is 100% hitch free.
Furthermore, please know that I am not a greedy person, but I have to do it this way otherwise, the huge amount of money would be lost forever as nobody else know about the movement of this cash except me.
Please, feel free to discuss your interest as regard this deal and reply me immediately through my secured email address: mj_securedmail@yahoo.com and I would be delighted to furnish you more classified information.
I hope you would be with me very soon and wishing for a long term business relationship with you.
Regards.
Madam Hajia Mariam Jumai.
