"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: CAN YOU HELP?''

I have a new email address! You can now email me at: mariaoronto@yahoo.co.nz

Dear,

Please permitt me to introduce myself to you, I am Mrs.Maria Oronto Herman, the Wife of late Mr Evans Herman, the Former Managing Director of Union Bank of Nigeria as well as the Chairman Nestle Food Nigeria who hails from Niger Delta who just passed away some few months ago.

After the death of my husband, as the wife and my only son,I knew quite alright that I am the next of kin to my husband. But after his death,my husbands's brother Mr kevin Herman began to claim the next of kin in order to earn my husbands funds and his properties consedering my age and status as his second wife of whome he actuallty wedded at the court and registry.

Out of the US $30.8 M (Thirty Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ) my husband kept in our family account, Mr kevin has transfered [$10.5M] already into his own private account and how he got the account number is what i don't know, who is working with him in the bank is strange to us and as if that is not enough,he has threatened to sell all my husbands properties including the Rutam Plaza (30 Story Building) in Victoria Island Lagos.

We are currently living in Our Residence right now with my only surviving Son,My Late husband brother who is a strong politician of the present civilian regime in Nigeria insisted he was going to make sure that my self and son does not get any of my late husband assets.

The crux of my letter and appeals to you is that however Our family Lawyer insisted that we take action now or from all indications we may loose everything.

So we consulted a professional lawyer and he told me that the problem lies beneath the [will] which my husband did not prepare before his death. And that the only option i have right now is to make all necessary arrangement outside Nigeria on how to transfer the remaining [$20.3M]fund into the account of anyone i trust and then disscourse percentage with the beneficarry, but we dont have any one outside the country except for uncles and cousines who are strongly supporters of my uncle as complaints i have taken to them did not yeild any result and probably because of his flambouyncy , I think they too are beneficiaries to his greed so this is why i write to you for assistance now.

Please ,if there is any possible means of rendering me this assistance of transfering this funds into your private account please quickly give me a reply so that I can discuss the percentage with you.

Reply so that I can discuss the percentage with you and may be give you all the egal documents of the deposit to commence application for credit delivry of the ballance in the bank.

Thanks for co-operation, waiting to hear from you.

Maria Oronto Herman.

NB: Please reply this letter and am ready to let you know how i got your email, since i am felling that this may be a surprise to you, although a regret t be very forward with this, but i have no option now.
