"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From Mrs. Zainab

Hello Dear,

Forgive my indignation if this message comes to you as a surprise. Please kindly permit me to use this medium to appeal for your assistance, my name is Mrs. Zainab Boukarie a citizen of Cote D'Ivoire. The only Wife of late Idrissa Cisse Boukarie a very wealthy cocoa merchant. My husband was among the victims of the war that broke out in my country on 30th oct between the rebel group and the Army which result too many deaths. I am sure you may be aware of the incident. My husband died after five days in a private hospital. I didn't know that my husband was going to leave me sudden, before he passed away he told me about (8.5 Million Dollars) Cash, in a trunk box deposited in a security Company here in Ouagadougou the capital city of Burkina Faso. Which he decleared as family heirloom belonging to his business associate abroad . I have located the company and verified the existance of the trunk box.

After the burial, my late husband's family took possessions of all his properties because I had no child for my husband as some useless African tradition and as an orphan who had nobody to fight on her behalf. Now I am left with nothing except the deposited box which they are not aware of.

I would like you to come here so that together we go to the company because foreigners are highly respected here. But if you can't make it to be here in person please give me your full contact details so that I will go and introduce you to the company, as my late husband's business associate abroad. I shall adequately offer you with 15% of the total sum for all awesome kindness and assistance in this venture.
Thanks as I wait your response.

Yours Faithfully,
Mrs. Zainab
