Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dearest One,

I am Purity Ogaeme, the only daughter of late Mr and Mrs Nelson Ogaeme. My
mother died on the 17th October 1986 when I was a kid and since then my
father took me so special because I am motherless. My father was Gold agent
in Abidjan Ivory Coast. Before the death of my late father on 20th February
2004 in a private hospital here in Abidjan he called me on his bedside and
told me that he has a sum of USD$15.5million in a security company here that
he used my name as his beloved and only daughter for the next of kin in
depositing the fund. The trunk box was marked as family valvable because he
did not want them to know that the containt of the box is money for safety
of the fund.

Now I want to move this money abroad and invest it in a lucrative business
venture in your country for security and selfety reasons. I want you to help
me claim and retrieve this box from the security company and have the money
transfer into your personal account.

I humbly seek for your assistance to help me to transfer this money in your
country for investment, and to serve as guardian to this fund, as I am still
a student, I also want you to make arrangement for me to come over to your
country to further my education.
