"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Which ever way you may look at it, let it please you to respond quickly either negatively or positively.

I am Barrister Amela Kodjo, a solicitor at law and personal attorney to late Mr.A.S. Lynch, a national Of your country who was an international business man based here in Lome, Republic of Togo. Hereinafter shall be referred to as my client for over ten years. On the 21st of October, 2001, my client, his wife and their only daughter, were involved in a ghastly motor accident along Boulevard Du John Paul II express Road on holidays to Karra while driving their personal car. Unfortunately, all occupants of the vehicle lost their lives.

Since after my client's death, I have made several enquiries to all the embassy's here to locate any of my clients extended relatives, this has proved unsuccessful.

After all the several unsuccessful attempts I made, I decided to track his last name over the Internet, to locate any member of his family hence I contacted you. I have contacted you to assist in repartriating the amount valued Ten million United States of American dollars (US$10 million) left behind by my client before it gets confiscated or declared unserviceable by Banque Centrale Lome Togo where this huge amount was deposited. The Bank has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have his account confisicated within the next twenty one official working days as the policy of the bank is to overrun over five years of unserviceable and dormant accounts. They have a veritable excuse as they knew that my client was dead. Therefore, the money should not remain with the bank till october this year or the bank will confisicate the fund as an unclaimed devidence.

Hence I have been unsuccesfull in locating the relatives since the bank issued the order, I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you have the same last name(surname) so that the proceeds of this account can be paid to you.

Therefore, on smooth conclussion of the transaction, you will take 45% and I will take 45%, while 10% will be use to cover any expenses that may arise on the process. Hence all I require of you is your honest co-operation to enable us see this transaction through.

I guarantee that this will be executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.

Please reply immediately.

Expecting to read from you soonest.
