"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: GOOD NEWS

Dear Friend,
My name is Ms. Grace Simpson, the daughter of Chief Alfred Simpson (the former deputy minister of finance under the outsted civilian government ) who was killed and mutilated by the military junta led by CHARLES TAYLOR after over- throwing the elected government of President Samuel Doe.
Though, I do not know to what extent you are familiar with events and disturbances in Liberia, but the pressure of war drove me, my brother and my mother out of Liberia into exile in Ghana, where we have been living under political asylum for 5 years now.
Sadly, my mother died of cancer 9 months ago and was buried in Ghana. Prior to her death, she handed me over a certificate meant for a secret deposit, which my father made in a security company in Accra, Ghana. The deposit that is worth $ 12,500.000 (twelve million five hundred thousand U. S. Dollars) was money paid to his corporation by its overseas customers in the heat of the conflict.
He made the deposit in his name with the hope of converting the money to his personal use at the end of the war but was killed when the conflict intensified as a result of his opposition to the rebel forces. I have contacted the security company to confirm the deposit and establish ownership.
Due to the death of my mother and the return of peace in Liberia, I have decided to solicit for the particiation of an honest and trustworthy person or company that will assist in the transfer and business investment of the Fund. I cannot do it alone due to my present status in Africa as a refugee. There is no risk involved in this transaction and immediately, I am in grip of your confidential fax line and telephone number , I will fax to you the certificate of deposit and other relevant documents for your perusal.
Most importantly, for your assistance and co-operation , i shall give you 10% from the total Fund. My late father declared lodgement falsely as to avoid theft / betrayal that are normally associated with such money lodgements. The crate containing family treasure.Enough to make you realize how much i am confiding in you and i am looking forward to your affirmative response and also i advise you to accord the confidential handling of this transaction to the fullest. And believe me this is no scam i am for real and just need your sincere help.
Thanking you for anticipated cooperation.
Huge regards,
Grace Simpson .
