"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Thanks for the prompt email response. I sincerely believe that as we go ahead in this partnership to executing this business which I know will be beneficial to both of us, we shall get to know and understand our selves better as we proceed. Then I will come to your Country and from there we can proceed in someother lucrative ventures where we can invest the
funds. There is this adage that states, "Partnership that works is the one built on a solid rock of trust and confidence". I got your contact through your country car dealer directory for my despirate search for a foriegner who will stand as next of kin which son name are thesame.

Firstly, I can be able to present you as the next of kin to my late client through the appropriate legal means. All I need from you now is your birth certificate to swear an affidavit of claims in your favour, so as to enable me proceed in presenting you with the valid documents as the! sole beneficiary to my late clients? funds. So, the fact that you are not from Nigeria makes it perfect. My late client is not a Nigerian. He is an Expatriate from outside Nigeria who happened to be a contractor with(Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation) before his demise including members of his
family.

My dear , who knows my late client, might be a distant relative of yours. So you cannot rule out that fact. I will only require your absolute trust, confidentiality and assurance that you will not be willing to part with my share of the funds when it eventually arrives your bank account/custody. If you can assure me with this, then we can commence business and the process of documentation and legalizing you as the next of kin as early as possible lets starts since time is not our friend.
Furthermore, you should realize that we must follow laid down procedures and laws. Hence we shall have to apply for a probate award of the estate to you. We shall then apply to the Federal High Court here, for an affidavit recognizing you as the bona fide next of kin and also compelling the finance house to transfer the inheritance to you. Apart from this, I already have in
my possession the death certificate, which is the most important document for inheritance.
I am permitted by law to swear it into effect with recognition of any next of kin having been empowered by the deceased before his death. You can see then that all is set and legally ready for you to fall in as the next of kin. If we both diligently follow this transaction, seven working days will be enough to accomplish it. Just reply with the guarantee that you will be honestwith me. We have to proceed so you must reply me immediately.

All i need from you now are the following. I want you to furnish me with your FULL NAME/ADDRESS, PHONE/FAX NUMBER, hence am going to use it to file in application to the ministries/departments that are involved for the approval of transfering of this funds into your nominated account which you are going to provide for me via mail.
Note that we have put all the machineeries/modalities in place for the successful execution of the deal, and would not want anything that jeopardize the essence of the transaction. Please I want you to write me as soon as you get this mail so that we can proceed immeditely as time is not in our favour.

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation and God bless
as I await your quick resposne.
