"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From George

Dear,

I must be sorry for any embarrassment this mail may cause you, based on the fact that, we do not know each other in person. It was out of my sincere desperation to seek your foreign assistance.

My name is George Nyoma, the only son of Late Brigadier General Benoni Nyoma, who was until his death, the Director of Military Intelligence and acting General Manager of the Sierra Leone Diamond Mining Coperation (SLDMC ). I am contacting you to seek your foreign assistance in securing and investing on my behalf the sum of US$21.6 million belonging to my late father which was deposited with a Security Trust firm as a consignment containing family monuments somewhere in Europe which will be disclosed to you in due course.

This money was part of income generated from the sales of solid minerals and diamonds which was in my father's possession before the out-break of a civil war in my country.

Following the out-break of the war, all government offices and parastatals were attacked and vandalized. The SLDMC which my father was controlling was also attacked, looted and burnt down to ashes, and diamonds worth millions of dollars were stolen by the "REVOLUTIONARY UNITED FRONT" military rebel forces. Many top government officials and senior army officers were assasinated and my father was a key target because of his sensitive military position and appointment in the SLDMC.

Regretably, my father was later captured and murdered along with his half brother during a mid-night rebel shoot-out when our official residence in freetown was raided by the rebel forces led by their notorious leader; Foday Sankoh.

My mother sustained very severe bullet injuries which resulted to her untimely and painful death in a private hospital here in Cotonou-Republic of Benin where we were granted political asylum.
Now, I am alone in a total strange country without parents, relatives or any body to care for me.

Before my mother died, she had told me about this money which my father deposited and asked me to look for a trustworthy foreigner who could guide and help me transfer and invest it in a profitable business venture overseas which will guarantee its safety for my future.
She advised me to leave Africa and settle down overseas with the help of the foreign partner. She also gave me the document for the deposit which bears my name.

The consignment will be released to any person whom I present to the Security Firm as my appointed beneficiary to it.

For your assistance in securing my future, I will compensate you with 20% of the money, and the remainder invested for me while I look for a way to come over to your country to live.

As soon as you accept to help me, I shall give you more details.

Do send your reply to my private e-mail address: george_nyoma@yahoo.com

I shall also give you my phone number incase you need it.

I expect to hear from you soon.

Thanks!

George Nyoma.
