"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE: MY RESPONSE!!!

Dear VICTIMNAME,

Thank you very much for your response to my proposal, in-fact I am very happy to have finally gotten a response from you, please be informed that I really want you to do this for me despite your bad experience in Cote d'Ivoire, trust me, am a sincere and God fearing person and I am willing to meet you in person to prove myself to you, you see one thing is knowing whom you are dealing with and another thing is trust people without knowing whom they are. I am very serious about this, this is not a joke but a very serious transaction and I desire that if you agree to move forward with me, you take this transaction very serious as well because this is a golden opportunity both of us have to change our entire life for better and you cannot afford to let this sleep out of your hand, however, I am promising to make sure that I will complete this transaction with you, if only you are willing and ready to assist me move forward with this transaction, as I have earlier stated in my first mail to you, I cannot do this all alone, hence I need your maximum cooperation and assistance to accomplish this goal.

For your information, this money has nothing to do with any form of illegality, this is a legitimate money that dully belongs to my late husband, I am ready to prove genuinely to you that this money truly belongs to my late husband, all documents covering this money will be made to your disposal for your verification and confirmations to certify your curiosity concerning this fund but please be in mind that before I do that, you must first agree to move forward with me in this transaction because I do not want anything that will jeopardize transaction as my whole life depends on this money now.

However, I would have loved to meet with you in person, if this will not in anyway be an inconvenience towards your tight schedule, otherwise, we can still move forward though a very good communication network trusting God that all will be well with both of us, it will be worthwhile if we can agree on how to move this transaction forward and complete it accordingly, putting seriously into consideration my status here in Spain as a refugee and that of my son which does not allow us to complete this transaction, hence, I will rather prefer to have all documentation in respect this transaction legally transferred to you as our appointed beneficiary by issuing you with a letter of authority and power of attorney empowering you to proceed with this transaction on our behalf as required by law, because all documentation must be notarised and legalized in accordance with the European law before you will have the right to contact the security company holding on this fund, as you may be aware making an agreement is very vital in this transaction, hence there is every need for us to sign a mutual agreement / memorandum of understanding that will guide and protect. Therefore, I am requesting that you get back to me as quickly as possible suggesting or contributing towards the best way possible to have this completed, note: your advice and directives is highly needed if you are ready to move forward with me.

You see my son and I, we have went through a lot since the death of my late husband, coming to Spain has not been easy but one thing I still hold on to is my faith, which keeps me stronger, however, I would not want you to disappoint me in this transaction by compounding my woos because I solicited for your assistance, please I beg of you, do not because of what I and my son are going through right now to use it as a yard stick to cheat me and my only son in this transaction, I promise to be sincere and faithful with you and I expect you to reciprocate the same back to me to enable us have a smooth conclusion of this transaction.
Finally, I am not asking you to give me any money for my personal use, but you are very much aware of my situation, things are not ok with me right now, if truly you are prepared to assist with this transaction, you will surely understand that this transaction need financing officially, am only being frank with you in this regards and also wants to understand what is actually involved to enable you make up your mind, hence I kindly request that you put this into consideration because I do not want you to do what you do not want to do, this is very important and for the interest of this transaction.

If you finally make up your mind on this, I would kindly request that you furnish me with your private telephone number (Mobile and house numbers) and private e-mail address to enable us speak more on this transaction and it procedures, because you will be required to conclude this transaction with the lawyer and bank on my behalf.

Thank you, while waiting for your urgent response.

Mrs. Janet George.

I apologize for the late reply.
Last year I received an email about an inheritance in Cote d'Ivoire. Even though I paid almost £2500 ($5000) in fees to Barrister Eze, I have not yet received the money.
I don't want to get burnt again.
Can I really trust you?
