"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear VICTIMNAME,

Thank you for your response received, indicating your interest to work this project with us.
Meanwhile, I would want you to give me your word of honor that you would fully co-operate with us to successfully to realize this project as conceived already. Also, give me a brief profile of your person viz your age and your family background as this forms the basis of criteria in maturity and your ability to handle a project of this magnitude amounting to $32 million.
I am very sorry if I sound strict or rude but you can see this is a project that should be done with an honest, capable and reputable individual like you with integrity for trusting such a huge amount of money in your care, we deserve to know much, it is the basis of comradeship in this enterprise as we are about to cement.

Further more, the fund in question is in form of an over invoice, inflated to that tune of amount ($32 Million) of which it would be labeled an outstanding payment due to be processed for payment as such we sort collaboration with you as the person to receive the payment as the rightful beneficiary.
The fund itself would be processed accordingly via the invoice system based on a supply voucher submitted to the Finance and Accounts department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as a justification for the purpose of the payment.
The fund in question would equally be processed for approval for payment via the due transparent diligent process with all necessary relevant documents attached to it at least to show proof of history of origin as to avoid any issue that associate with anything money laundering either through drug, terrorist and gun running or any illegal activities considering the happenings financially around the world now in international financial agencies as the case may be.

I have a wife with seven children, four girls, three boys and I want to ensure that their future is secured financially with this project; therefore, you can understand my position towards this issue.
It will be appreciated if you could tell me more about yourself.

Above all, it would also be necessary that we still arrange for a meeting so that we would acquaint ourselves with trust and affirm confidentiality as this issue demands, considering our positions as public officers entrusted with public funds,we will ask you to Visit Nigeria and see things for yourself.

Finally, we would contract a lawyer to draft an agreement in form of Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U) and would forward same via email attachment to you for your perusal and amendment where necessary which after it has been approved by both parties we would sign the original copies and exchange via email attachment. It would be appreciated if you furnish me with your cell phone for direct and easy communication.
