"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Thanks for your response

Attn: VICTIMNAME

Thank you for your response and your desire to assist us in this transaction. I want to believe that you are the one to help me come out of this situation. I have gone through so much and even as it stands I can no longer travel to my country. You are quiet aware of the situation in my country. Security has been a night mare and that is the reason why the consignment has been with the Security Company in South Africa. I assure you that this will never be same as you experienced in the past.

My late husband deposited the consignment which contains US$18 Million with a Security company in South Africa and I need your assistance to get it out. The security company does not know the content of the box. It was deposited as family valuables.

To summarize this, I need your assistance to transfer this money and subsequently invest my portion in a safe and lucrative business in your country as we do not want to repatriate our portion back here from your country for security reasons.

You will take 25% for helping me in this transaction unless you have other suggestion. 5% will be set aside for any miscellaneous expenses from both sides. Because of my status in the country as a refugee I am not allowed to open an account with any bank or conduct business with out proper documentation and registration

So I need your cooperation to come down to South Africa and open a non-resident account in your name for which we shall deposit this whole money upon retrieving it from the security company and then transfer it to your designated account overseas in your country.

If however you are not able to travel to come to South Africa, I can discuss with the security company, the possibility of transporting the consignment to a country near you if they do not have a branch office in your country. This way you will see every thing for your self instead. I desperately need to take the consignment out of the security company to avoid attracting more demurrage

I seek your urgent assistance and would appreciate you visit to South Africa to see things for yourself. I have all documentation regarding this safe deposit box including receipts of all payment made to the Security Company for the past 6 months.

I will appreciate your urgent attention and sincerity in this business

To start with I will need to change the ownership of this consignment with the security company to your name and will send to you the new Certificate of Ownership. That is the first step and I will need the following information to do so.

1. Your full name as it is on your passport
2. Copy of your International passport number or your ID card #
3. Mailing OR Postal address
4. Telephone and fax number.

As soon as I receive the above information, I will begin the process immediately. My son is quite aware of the legal process and I will appreciate that you speak to him for more details of this transaction. Do let me know if you will be able to visit South Africa or not.

Please fax copy of your International passport or the ID card
to +27 11 507 6934

Thank you so much and I wait to hear from you. I will appreciate an opportunity to speak with you on the phone may be we can trust each other better.

Best Regards,
Mrs Kabila
