"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

We apologize for the delay of your payment and all other inconveniences that we might have indulge you. This is because of our current Banking reformations and the recapitaisation exercise which has held our payment system unfuctional and indolent, and had refute our 100% serviceability in accrediting foreign contract payments. Again,we have been incapable of reaching you since your last contact with us because we lost your contact during our office file cabinet refurbishing . His excellency, President Olusegun Obasanjo has given a direct order to the Central Bank to proceed with the payment of all the contract debts and also to ensure that all contract payments are effected .You are being contacted to apply for your payment claim immediately. You can either apply by yourself or through your personal assistant/representative/agent or anybody you may wish the money to be paid into his account.
From the records of outstanding contracts due for payment with the Federal Government of Nigeria, your name and company is on the major contractors list who have not received their payments for the Federal Contract Project in the last 2 years.

I wish to inform you that your payment is being processed and will be released to you as soon as you respond to this letter. Also note that from the record in my file your outstanding contract payment is USD$45 Millions Dollars , so kindly contact us for the immediate transfer of your already approved funds.

Please re-confirm to me if this is inline with what you have in your record and also re-confirm to me the followings

1) Your full name.
2) Phone, fax and mobile #.
3) Company name, position and address.
4) Profession , age and marital status.
5)Working I.d/Int'l passport.
6)Bank name/address.
7)Bank account.

That is important since we lost your file in our office cabinet reshufflement or if you are not the one to apply directly . As soon as this information is received and confirmed, your payment will be made to you in a certified bank draft from Central Bank of Nigeria and a copy will be given to you for you to take to your bank for confirmation. Get back to me immedaitely. As a result of the on-going drive of the Government to update its books and clear payment to contractors. I strongly recommend that you promptly start your
clearance as soon as possible for immediate transfer of your fund.
