"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear friend,

Thank you for responding to my letter. I assure you that this is very real
and legit. Like I said before, I am a the administrator of the estate of
Mark Schoeler, my late client, you need not worry over the legality of this
transaction.

Like you already know, my name is Alan Yates, and I am an Attorney, Please
note that you must contact me on my direct telephone numbers and email only
as stated above
for confidentiality sake. It is unfortunate that I cannot afford to give you
all the details, like the
bank where the money is deposited for now, as I need to be sure of your
position before I can do that, due to the very sensitive nature of my
position as it relates to this matter.

Let me take this opportunity to give you a brief on how we intend to succeed
with this transaction, hitch free. I will need you to send to me;

(a) your full names, your complete home / mailing address,

(b) your confidential telephone and fax numbers and also a copy of your
international passport or drivers license, i will also send you a copy of
mine in this regard. Once I receive your complete details, we would be able
to commence by my firms' writing a claims letter on your behalf to the bank,
to formally introduce you as next of kin to my late client, Mark Schoeler.

In order to prove you as next of kin to my late client, Mark Schoeler, to be
able to lay claim to the estate on behalf of you and us over here, which is
the main purpose of this relationship, I will use your information to
prepare the necessary documents and affidavits and probate letter of
Mandamus that will put you in place of the next of kin.

Since I have in my possession as his personal lawyer, the deposit
certificate of the amount of
US$15.5million of my late client which does not contain any name on the next
of kin column, Your name will now take the place with the proper affidavit
to back it up.

Once we get these documents and submit the claim affidavit on your behalf,
the application is approved and you will need to sign the release documents
for the money to be paid into your account.

I will not play any role from when the bank starts to contact you until the
money hit your account, because as the administrator of the estate, I am not
supposed to play any role other than the filing of the application on your
behalf, to avoid any form of suspicions from the bank.

Our estimation of time from when I get your complete details to when the
money is hits your account should not be more than two weeks. There is no
risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by me and
our contact at the bank.

Please observe utmost confidentiality, and be rest assured that this
transaction would be most profitable for both of us. I thank you once again
and wait for your details

I await your prompt response.

Best regards,

Alan.
