"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello Dear,

I am very happy for your response. My proposal to you is not compulsory but I did contacted you out of my humble heart. I think you should like it if I prove to you the reallity of what I told you about this money.

I am a deaf girl. I am 23years old and single, still undergraduate. I am parentless now and I happened to be the only child to my late parents. My father was poisened by his business partiners on one of their business outings and he died in 2003, when he could not survive the poison. My father told me it was because of his wealth that his enemies poisoned him. My mother died of breast cancer in 1988 when I was five years old and my father took the pain to bring me up.

I did not just get your email and decided to contact you. I did so following the advice and direction by my friend who works in internet centre here in my country. She is also a deaf girl. She advised me to look for a fellow deaf to assist me as we deafs can only trust a fellow deaf and we can understand each other easily as we have the same fate. She introduced me to the site where I got your email. This is the reason why I contacted you. I contacted some other people in the same site and about six of them accepted my proposal but after making some prayers my spirit directed me to you and that is why I summoned the courage to write you this email.

This money was deposited in an INTERNATIONAL RUSSIAN SECURITY COMPANY here in Abidjan, Cote d'ivoire, my country. The company belonged to the russians. I have every evidence concerning this money with me. I want to leave this country now because of war going on here in my country. I don't want to lose my life and my inheritance either to the rebels or my father's enemies.

If you make up your mind to assist me get this consignment box retrieved and delivered to you over there and after you have recieved the money you will assist me to come over to your country and by your help we will invest the money properly while I continue with my education. You can indicate the percentage of the money that will be ok for you in conpensation for your efforts and imputs. I am ready to give you the contacts of the INTERNATIONAL RUSSIAN SECURITY COMPANY once you accept to assist me for you to contact them and know that what I am telling you is real. But I want to know; are you a deaf like me?

Have a nice day as I am waiting to hear from you soon. MAY YOU BE BLESSED AS YOU EXTEND YOUR HELPING HANDS TO A NEEDY FELLOW.

Mercy.

Is this a spam or is this the real thing. I need to know for sure, I don't want to get scammed again.
