"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Transfer assistance pls

Dear Friend,
Greetings! For this letter is strictly personal, intimate and confidential. Forgive this unusual manner of contacting you, but this particular letter is of exceptional and very private in nature. There is absolutely going to be a very great doubt and distrust in your heart in respect of this email, because of the fact that you do not know me before and also coupled with the fact that so many miscreants have taken possession of the Internet to facilitate their nefarious deeds, thereby making it extremely difficult for person like me to get attention and recognition. There is no way for me to know whether I will be properly understood, but it is my duty to write and reach out to you for urgent assistance as God wishes and pray that I will get the assistance I needed from you.
Briefly, I am Rosemary Mbadinuju from Anambra state of Nigeria. I lost my husband some months ago and because of the sudden and his unexpected death, my husband people accused me of being reponsible for his death and wanted me to swear an oath to affirm my innocense over his death because of this I was taken to a village shrine, I vehemently refused to swear the oath since I am a christian. My refusal did not go down well with them and they sent me packing with my children empty handed as they took possesion of all my husband's properties.
Luckily for me, his Banker called me and intimate me of some money my husband has in his account before his untimely death. I quickly arranged with the Banker to remove the money from the account and put it in a coded account to avoid my husband's people knowing about it because if they do they will seize it just like they did to all his properpities they laid their hands on. The amount of money he left in the account is One Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Six Thousands US dollars ($1, 776.000,00) only.
So, after many consultations and advise from the Banker, I decided to transfer this money abroad for future investment for my two children so that they can have something to fall upon when they complete their education. I heeded to this advise of transferring this money abroad because, my husband's people will seize the money if they find out as they have done to other things they laid their hands on.
It is because of this situation that I was compelled to write to you seeking for your assistance. Pls, I need a reliable bank account from you where I can transfer this money into. For your assistance in providing this account, I am ready to give you 25% of the total money. This may sound surprising to you especially since I do not know you but this transaction will definitely bring us together for good by that time we will come to know each other well.
In the event of accepting that the money be transferred into your account, I will come over to your country after transfer where I will need your advise on how to invest the money after collecting your 25%. Right now, I am in a friend's house with my children.
Pls I know You will be of immense help as I need to have this fund tranferred immediately for this investment. I will like to know what your response looks like so that I will know what to do next before it is too late. Pls reply to ; mbadirose@rediffmail.com
Regards
Mrs Rosemary Mbadinuju.
