Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

My name is MR. GODWIN OTEMBA, the deputy governor of bank of GHANA.

This is just to inform you, that all former arrangement, to transfer your funds, into your nominated bank account, has been cancelled, due to obstacles, associated with such transference, since attack of September 11th by terrorist.

However, note that we have decided to pay you by, handing over the boxes, which contain your funds, to INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC COURIER FIRM, for onward delivery to you, at your doorstep at COUNTRY.
