"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Compliments,

I am Mr, Chamberlain James a private financial consultant /Account portfolio manager charged with the responsibilty of managing a particular investment account for a resident foreigner who died, leaving in my care, a sizeable amount in investment just when we were concluding the investment release procedures.

I have made several enquiries to locate any of my client’s relatives, immediate and extended, this has proved unsuccessful as the deceased does not obviously have an easily identifiable next of Kin, hence, I am contacting you. I need your assistance in securing the investment left behind by my client before it is declared unserviceable by the handlers, courier and security services, which is currently in possession of the fund, as they await me to recommend to them, the next of kin of the deceased and thus the beneficiary of the investment. The handlers has already issued a mandatory formality notice for me to provide the beneficiary of the investment with prove, or have the inheritance confiscated and this should expire within 90 days.

The peculiarity here is that the deceased shared the same surname with you and since I have been unsuccessful in locating any of his relatives for over two years and convinced that no one is coming forth, and haven satisfied the mandatory legal requirement of beneficiary/next of kin notification, I now seek your trust, consent and perfect understanding, to present you as the next of kin of the deceased so that the proceeds of the investment, valued at £1,550,000.00 (One Million Five Hundred And Fifty Thousand Great Britain Pounds), interest inclusive, can be released to you as the perceived next of kin. The followings are my specifications for your consideration and immediate attention:

1. Ability to investment the capital, up to £1,550,000.00
2. Ability to supervise areas of Interest - real estate, hotel, transportation, civil construction, industries, and fisheries.
3. Shares of partners depending on capital input, therefore subject to negotiation.
4. You must be prepared to contribute positively and as applicable and be ready to sign agreement with me that will protect my interest before the fund is released to your designated account.

Please kindly note that you need not reply if you are not satisfied with the above conditions as I prefer to deal with somebody serious as the entire management and running of this venture will be our mutual responsibilities. All I require is your honest cooperation and confidence in me, which I know would not come easy and I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate background that will protect you from any breach of the law. I expect your urgent response and if in the affirmative, with a confirmation of your full name and present location, I shall then advice you on what we need to do.

Best regards,
Mr. Chamberlain James
Southampton, United Kingdom
