"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Brief introduction I am Mr. Golden Atta the personal assistant to Minister of defence of Ivory Coast or Cote d'Ivoire under president Laurence Gbagbo's admistration.We solicit for your urgent assistance to provide an overseas account where the sum of $4.5M (four million five hundred thousand US dollars) can be transferred. The money was raised through an over-invoicing of a particular contract awarded to a Russian firm for supply/procurement of ammunitions during civil crisis of rebel attack in Ivory Coast which is now under cease fire by United Nations monitoring team and to organise free and fair election. Now this amount is lying in federal reserve bank awaiting transfer into any nominated account.

Being civil servants we are not entitled or have access to open foriegn account or to operate business of such, that is why we are soliciting for your assistant to help us claim and transfer the amount into your account. A renowned reward will be discussed immediately we come into an accord with you, more information awaiting till we hear from you, knowing that we are not given information into wrong hands.
