"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENT

Good Day my Dear Friend,

I have a proposal for you-this however is not mandatory nor will I in any
manner compel you to honor against your will, but I do hope we both stand
the chances of benefiting from it.

My name is Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada, a serving senator and the eldest son of
the former president of Philippines, Joseph E. Estrada.

The Present Gloria Arroyo’s government has politically manipulated
corruption charges that led to the removal of my father from office as the
President, as if that was not enough, she went further to start seizing
properties and frozen bank accounts both home and abroad belonging to
members of my family.

However, my father has been in detention cell in Philippines since 2001 and
my mother placed under house arrest while the entire families are under
surveillance.

I am worried about the situation and the manner the government is
manipulating the justice system in Philippines for their selfish interest.
As a matter of fact, the government is working against the wishes of our
people, as what they needed is to reinstall my father back to his office as
the allegations leveled against him is being fabricated. You can see this
observation from the local news recently released, as indicated on this
link: http://asia.news.yahoo.com/060426/afp/060426041549int.html

On this note, I have been given a mandate by my entire family to transfer
the sum of Sixteen Million United States Dollars (US$16 Million) lying with
one of the biggest bank in United States of America. I have made an
arrangement with the bank and they are willing to transfer the funds.

Our idea is to transfer the funds to someone who is capable and not in any
way related to the Philippines, in order to assist us in investing it on a
viable venture abroad.

Therefore, I am seeking your permission and assistance on behalf of my
entire family, to receive and invest this fund (US$16 Million) on a viable
venture in your country. I will request for the transfer of the funds to you
once we have reached an agreement.

For your assistance, we are ready to offer 25% of the total sum to you and
also make you the investment manager of our share of 75%, provided you are
able to convince us on how the fund will be well managed.

I would appreciate if you would indicate your interest, acceptance or
response to this proposal. Only then we can start this project and nurture
it to reality in taking decisive steps to investing in your country based on
your experience and advice.

Thanks for your anticipated co-operation.

Yours truly,

Senator. Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada
