"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: HELP ME PLEASE.

Dear.Amarjit Singh

I write to you this morning with grief and sorrow in my heart because i regret to come from this Africa continent. You may not know me but i believe you can help me with my present problem if only you believe in my situation.I want you to please in the name of God write back to me since i know you are the only one that can help me out.

I'am from Sierra Leone and i just got into Ghana six days ago.I was held at the border by customs check.I have a consignment worth $5 million dollars in the consignment.I took this consignment from Sierra Leone and i have been spending money from the box until i was held in Ghana. This is my first time to come to Ghana.I planned comming to Ghana to stay and to obtain a visa abroad since Sierra Leone was no longer comfortable for me to stay anymore. But to my greatest surprise,i was held at the border and the customs wanted to check the box.I did everything possible to hide the keys of the box, somwhere around the border so that they cannot have access to the box. However, they tried everything possible to open the box,but could not because of the quality of the box.I was later handed over to the controller of customs here in Ghana who found in my pocket the sum of $3,400 U.S.D. His name is General Frank Mensah.I'am been held here in Ghana because of the consignment.I have not
discolsed to anyone the content of the box yet.I am been manhandled here and i have recieved severe beaten by policemen ordered by General Frank Mensah.

I am yet to tell the truth to General Frank Mensah the content of the box.I have fear that they will seieze my money if they find out that it is money that is inside the box.I have been spending money from the box before i was held in Ghana.Ghana is a bad country because they have brutally dealt with me.I have lied to the customs that the owner of the box lives abroad.I have not gievn any names yet.General Frank Mensah is the boss here and if you are willing to assist me to stand as the owner of this box as a foriegner ,i believe strongly that the general will give me back my box and my freedom.I promise to give you any amount from the box if it is released to me because i can trace the place i hide the keys to the box around the border. If my consignment is released to me,i will go to the border where i hide the keys to open the consignment to take any amount of money.

Please kindly advice in the name of God what you think is best for me.Do i disclose the content of the box to General Frank Mensah? He will be taking me to court and i dont have time to think of what to do now.

They have seized the money i had with me which is $3,400 U.S.D with nothing to feed on.I need your help .

I pray that God touch your heart to bring me out of this mess amen.

Waiting for your phone call.

May God bless you.

Scot Daniel.
