"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: OUTDTANDING CONTRACT/INHERITANCE FUNDS PAYMENTS

FROM: SENATE COMMITEE ON FOREIGN DEBTS

SUBJECT: CONTRACT/INHERITANCE FUND PAYMENTS

Sir,

Following the complete repayment of the International (World Bank, IMF Paris Club) Loans by the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Paris Club decided to show an 'olive branch' to the country by providing fund for the payment of outstanding Contract/Inheritance Funds. This was part of the agreement reach before the repayment of the loans, as it was veiwed that this will completely remove any grudges from any other creditors.

Subsequent upon the above, a commercial bank in neighbouring Republic of Benin was chosen by the Paris Club to handle the Contract/Inheritance Funds payments. The choice (of the Republic of Benin) is mainly because of the stable democratic government and also because it is a former colony of France, an important member of the Paris Club. The bank itself was chosen due to its track record in stating the standard of banking efficiency in the country.

After considering all you have gone through in trying to secure your Contract/Inheritance Fund Payment has therefore been selected as those to benefit from the first phase of this payment. To take advantage of this: you are therefore to contact this commercial bank (in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin) and inform them that you are one of the beneficiaries for the funds that is to be paid out. Yoo could as well forward a copy of this notification to them. Their contact information is as follows:

Bank Name: Financial Bank, Benin
Contact Person: Dr. Mitchell Ammoussou
Telephone: +229 95956716
Fax: +229 21323746
Email: financialbank.bj@freelancebank.com

We will appreciate that you stop every communication with whatsoever office in Nigeria (in respect of this payment), but write to inform us of the response you receive from the bank in Benin.

We regret the time it took for you to realize your payment, and wish you well in your future endeavours.

Dr. Idris Garba
Head, Senate Commitee on Foreign Debts
(For, the Federal Republic of Nigeria)
