"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Dr. Cravin

Thanks for your mail. In my first email I already gave you information on who I am, my state of health and why I have chosen to put you in charge of the stated fund. The cancer I have been diagnosed with is breast cancer. It has defied all forms of treatment including drugs and chemotherapy. Even surgery which is normally the hope of last result has failed in my case. I have now submitted to fate since the doctors have told me that the cancer is rapidly spreading to other internal organs including my blood. This means that there is no hope for treatment or its course being reversed in anyway. Death is imminent. The pain I have to live with on a daily basis is indescribable.
Like I mentioned in my last email I lost my husband two years ago and the grief was still in my heart when I was diagnosed of this horrible disease.
It is for this reasons I have searched to find somebody who might have the predisposition to accomplish the task of passing on a privately kept fund of $80 million dollars to charitable organizations as he or she deems fit, since I cannot do this myself due to my failing health. It was this search that yielded your contact email address with which I sent you my first email.
I hope my first mail did not embarrass you? And if it did, I apologies for this your task is simple. Only that it requires dedication and you must keep all information concerning this to yourself due the large amount involved. You will simply retrieve the funds from the finance company with the aid and assistance of my lawyer and subsequently disburse 85% of the money to charity organizations of your choice and retain 15% of the funds for your effort. The process is simply and straight forward. All that is required is a trust worthy individual to see the process through to completion. If you would be able to help me fulfill this last living request, I would need you to get back to me on the following issues,
1. That you are in a position to be trusted with such a large amount of fund, and that you have a heart for charity.
2. That you are willing to contact the finance company holding the deposit through my lawyer whose details I will provide so you can discuss the terms of releasing the funds.
3. That you are willing to give this issue the privacy and strict confidentiality it requires not just for the safety of the funds but also for your own safety considering the large amount involved.
4. That you fully understand this transaction up to this stage and you are ready to proceed under these terms.
I await your response to the issues raised here for further communication.

Remain bless,
Regina Ahmed
