"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Tim DavisIt's been long I heard from you. Well, I just want to use this medium to thank you very much for your earlier assistance to help me in receiving my consignment with City Trust Bank plc. I am obliged to inform you that I have succeeded in receiving the funds with the help of a new partner from Hong kong. Everything was perfectly done because we strike a deal with one of the Lady accountant who works with the Bank and she rendered a tremendous help to us. My new partner initiated this idea and everything worked out successfully. In appreciation of your earlier assistance to me in receiving the consignment, I have decided to compensate you with the sum of $1,250,000 in a CHECK (One million-two hundred & fifty Thousand United States Dollars). This is from my own share. I did this simply to show you that it is good to do good things to the right people always.Presently, I am in Hong kong for investment project with my own share under the advice of my partner.
Meanwhile, I didn't forget your past efforts and attempts to assist me in receiving my consignment despite that it failed us somehow. I will be sending you e-mail from time to time to know if you have received your share or not.Now contact my personal assistant in Benin Republic, bright Iyaro on his email and do send him your contact address where you want the CHECK to be sent you. His e-mail address: secretarybrightiyaro@yahoo.co.ukPlease do let me know immediately, if you received it so that we can share the joy together after all the suffer ness at that time. In the moment, I am very busy here in Hong kong because of the investment projects, which the new partner and me are having at hand. So feel free to get in touch with Bright Iyaro to send thecheque to you without any delay. With My Best Regards

Roddick; I'm sorry for the way the last e-mail may have sounded. I've gotten similar e-mails lately from other people. I will except delivery from you. I just can't pay any shipping right now if I have too. I got hurt on my job in mid November and am just now able to go back to work. Only problem is I can't go back to where I was at, because they said I'd have to be able to do my job 100%; switch is never going to happen. I blew 2 lower disc in my back and am limited in what I can do. I'm so strapped for cash right now I'm having a hard time just keeping up with the bills we have. I tried to call the number you sent last time, but it won't go thru or something. It keeps sounding like a fast busy signal here. Believe it or not, but I'm as honest as the day is long; as they say here in my part of the country. I still go by the old school of a hand shake is as good as a signed contract. I don't know what the time difference between us, but if you can; call me tomorrow at 10
o'clock a.m. my time and I'll be sure to be here. If no connection on that number, try 1-434-426-6552. I don't know usa country code. That is my cell phone number. Again; sorry for the confusion!! Sincerely;Tim DavisRoddick Oba wrote:
