"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: A LETTER FROM - Eternity Bank PLC

Dear Sir/Madam,

There is an issue with the wire transfer which has been instructed to send to the owner of this email address (you). The depositor/owner of the fund instructed to send the fund to this email address rather than to a bank account. We cannot send a wire transfer to an email address; we require further information in order to complete this wire transfer. By right we suppose to request your bank co-ordinates from the owner of this funds but due to secret agreement he made with an attorney in other continent did not allow us to know in time before the owner of the funds died few weeks ago. This institution did not know about this until we review a notarised WILL we received from one Barrister Thompson Williams (Lawyer to Owner of the fund).

To solve the problem all we require is voice or written confirmation from you of the following before you will send the bank co-ordinates to our below email address -

- To know the correct and complete bank co-ordinates in which you wish to receive this transfer
- To know which Country you would like the money sent to

In order to correct these problems please call or email our office with below email address. Remember to mention this reference number CI45/PH and we will then be able to give you the detail information on how the transfer will go.

Yours Sincerely,
Jean P. Suarez
