"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Greetings to you. It's obvious you may find this mail unobtrusive and
strange but I can assure you it's only for mutual benefit. Permit me to
introduce myself; my name is Mr. Thomas Asore personal assistance to Mrs.
Joyce Aryee CEO Ghana Chamber of Mines.

Straight to my motive of writing you. At the end of the sales of the last
gold mine sold to the Ireland Government, we declare (Two million three
hundred and fifty thousand five hundred dollars) $2,350,500 out of the (Two
hundred and ninety five Million Five hundred thousand United States Dollars)
$295,500,000 to be paid to our mining foreign partners which never exist. We
already settle our mining foreign partners immediately upon completion of
the contract from our company purse, which of course is not up to the amount
we declared to the Government for the job and our foreign partner mustn't
know about the amount we declared to the Government for the job they
executed.

We've just been informed by the Ireland Government that the payment is ready
and the Ghanaian Ministry of Finance has approve our claim and has giving us
the go ahead to provide our mining partners banking information and name to
enable the Bank of Ireland issue a draft in the tone of the ($2,350,500) to
our contractor. In view of this development, we solicit your cooperation to
present you as our mining foreign partner to receive the money on our behalf
and you will be compensated with 20% of the total fund as issued and stated
in the payment.
