"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear friend,

Dear friend,
lt is my great pleasure in writting you this letter on
behalf of my colleagues.I got your information through internet, i
decided to contact you based on the fact that you will be honest with me for this urgenttransaction which is 100%risk free.
I am the strong room Manager of ASCOM-BENIN in Cotonou
Republic-Du-Benin. In our company, there is an unclaimed boxes
containing(USD$15.500.000.00) belonging to a foreign customer
who died in December 2003 in a plane crash. Since we got the information about his death,we have been expecting his Next of Kin to come over and claim these boxes because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as Next of Kin or relation to the deceased, as indicated in our company guideline unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed Next of Kin or relations died along with him at the plane crash leaving nobody with the knowledgen of these boxes behind for the claim.
It is therefore upon this discovery that I and two other senior
officials in the company now decided to make business with you since the man is a foreigner. The company Law and guidelines here stipulated that if such consignment remained uptil five years without being claimed, such consignment becomes an abandoned property.
The request of a foreigner as Next of Kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Benin citizen cannot stand as a Next of Kin to a foreigner. We are optimistic that the split will be fair to everyone at the end.
Thereafter we shall visit your country for the
disbursement according to the percentages agreed to be later .
Please be honest to me. Therefore, on your interest in this trasaction,i will arranged for good ground to move the
goods out of the country.
This transaction is confidential/risk free. As soon as you receive this mail, you should contactme at once through
email : douglas_dikko10@yahoo.co.uk and also feel free
to visit the website of the incident: www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/12/26/benin.crash
Thanks,
Trusting to hear from you immediately.
Yours Sincerely
DOUGLAS DIKKO.
